Nidec Machine Tool Launches MV12BxⅡ

Nidec Machine Tool Corporation, a subsidiary of Nidec Group, has introduced its newest double-column machining centre, the MV12BxⅡ. Designed to cater to the machining requirements of various industries, this high-efficiency machine boasts a rapid traverse speed that significantly cuts down non-cutting time, making it one of the most productive compact double-column machining centres available.

The MV12BxⅡ utilizes grease to lubricate its spindle and feed axes, improving energy efficiency and reducing operating costs. It also features an electric power unit that enables eco-friendly operations. This machine is capable of meeting a wide range of production needs, including high-precision surface quality and general parts machining, as well as light to heavy cutting. Nidec Machine Tool will showcase the MV12BxⅡ at its Large-Machine Preview, taking place on February 21 and 22 at its Main Plant in Ritto, Shiga, Japan.

With a rapid traverse speed of 48m/min for the X-axis and 32m/min for the Y- and Z-axes, the MV12BxⅡ reduces non-cutting time, while its spindle speed has been increased to 7,000 min-1 and its motor output has been boosted to 26kW. The machine has a compact installation space of 3.4 x 5.8m and a maximum operating range of 1.6m for the X-axis and 1.3m for the Y-axis, making it one of the most productive double-column machining centres with a BT50 taper spindle in its class.

The MV12BxⅡ utilizes an energy-efficient and low-noise electric power unit that operates the pump only when necessary, resulting in lower power consumption compared to conventional hydraulic units that run continuously. The tribology technology developed and perfected by Nidec Machine Tool enables the use of grease to lubricate the spindle and feeding axes, reducing the use of air and lubricant agent and reducing operating costs and operator workload.

The MV12BxⅡ also offers a range of user-friendly options, jointly developed with Nidec OKK Corporation, that include an automatic operator door, coolant shower, and selectable chip conveyor, meeting the diverse needs of users.
