HAKUSAN, Japan, Oct 8, 2024 – Nakamura-Tome Precision Industry Co., Ltd. has announced the release of a new CNC multitasking lathe named WY-150V.

This machine is the third model in the V series, following the NTY³-100V introduced in March of this year, and is specifically designed for speed. It features several new technologies, including “ChronoCut,” which reduces idle time during machining and shortens cycle times.

Equipped with Y-axis standard upper and lower turrets and opposed twin spindles, the WY-150V enables fast production through simultaneous left/right and upper/lower machining. The spindles and index units have been newly designed, enhancing overall rigidity and allowing for machining under more demanding cutting conditions. Additionally, a heat-resistant frame structure has been adopted to minimize thermal displacement during machining. The software has also been upgraded, with “ChronoCut” now included as standard to reduce idle time. With advancements in both hardware and software, we are pushing the boundaries to truly achieve “Faster than the fastest.”

Nakamura-Tome has incorporated its unique idle time reduction feature, “ChronoCut,” as a standard feature. ChronoCut is software designed to shorten idle time during machining processes. As the machining conditions remain unchanged, it does not affect accuracy.

The WY-150V is the first in its class to offer a spindle capable of handling a φ80 bar capacity, with the option of equipping a powerful motor of up to 28/15kW. Additionally, the milling motor features a standard output of 7.5/3.7kW, with a maximum rotation speed increased to 10,000 min⁻¹. This enables high-speed machining of large-diameter workpieces while maintaining both high rigidity and precision.
